Gary Williams’ Maryland Terrapins seem to struggle out of the gate and in head scratching fashion look horrendous against far inferior competition. Fairfield is certainly a creampuff and a team that deserves to be a huge dog tonight against Greivis Vazquez and the big bad Terps but I am banking on history repeating itself. Yes Maryland did just beat up Charleston Southern but I don’t see another 38 point burial happening here.
 
There certainly is talent on Williams’ squad with Vazquez and Landon Milbourne, Eric Hayes and Adrian Bowie but there is always talent in this program and yet we do not always see it at this time of the year.
 
Ed Cooley’s Stags are 2-0 and just beat Fordham. No the Rams are not exactly a quality squad at all but they are still a semi big program and win there means something. Anthony Johnson will fill it up and bang down low and Derek Needham is pretty good as well.
 
I’m not calling for a shocking outright but I also see a more competitive game than that oddsmaker seems to believe.
