| Royals Win Tonight Says Elite Baseball Handicapping Expert |
| Jul 6th, 2010 Matt Rivers has a free pick Tuesday on the Royals laying 135 at Seattle
Erik Bedard has always had great stuff but the lefty is also always hurt. He comes back today from yet another injury and I just can’t see it going all that well being up against Zach Greinke where the margin for error should be fairly small.
I’m not saying that Greinke is God or anything but the guy has been much better over the past month and looked great in that last start against the White Sox before imploding a little late in the win. The righty had a rough go of it for a while there as his mates were not scoring a lick and I think it got to him as he then proceeded to have some poor performances in early to mid June.
But Greinke has gone 9,7,8 and 8 innings in his last four starts and has looked great in the process, save that last game 8th inning where he allowed basically all of the runs to the ChiSox. Those lone few batters don’t worry me though as Greinke seems to be the great hurler from last season right now. Clueless people who just look at a boxscore would think that last start was bad because the overall numbers are not great but that is far from the truth.
Bedard could be great as his stuff has always been top notch but coming off of the dl one can’t expect that much and even if he is alright I would be surprised to see more than five innings tonight.
Neither offense is much of anything and this game is at Safeco in the Great Northwest giving them the homefield advantage but when push comes to shove at around a pick I will take my chances with Greinke against the oft-injured Bedard.
The pick: Kansas City -135
For more information: A rare poor Monday, it’s going to happen at times but no biggie at all in the grand scheme of things. Back on that horse today with a pair of absolute no-brainers.
The big play comes from US Cellular with a 300,000* between the Angels and White Sox. How will Jered Weaver react after being snubbed by the All-Star game? Bonus 200,000* Braves and Phillies. About to be 9 of 11 winning days in a matter of hours! Click now to purchase
