Posted Nov 15th, 2010 by Before we begin, I'll make a few clarifications here on issues that a lot of people seem to be confused about ,including the idiots who wrote this article and their so called sources......FACTS ARE BELOW>>>>>>> 1. Contrary to what the NCAA has said, there is no section that indicates the act of solicitation of extra benefits would constitute a violation. This means, even if Cecil Newton did try to solicit benefits from Mississippi State, as long as Cecil or Cam didn't receive any actual benefits, Cam is eligible to play. Posted Nov 16th, 2010 by Dave What Auburn fans fail to understand is that parsing and nit-picking the NCAA rulebook lets them create a little shell to go into and save themselves from the shit storm that's about to come down. People think that because the NCAA has a voluminous rulebook, they have to play by it as long as you can cite the rules that go your way. That, ladies and gentlemen, is foolish. In the the eyes of the NCAA, you have to play by the rulebook. The NCAA plays by its own. That means If the NCAA wants one rule to apply while not the others, so be it. If the NCAA wants one rule to not apply while applying any of the others, so be it. If the NCAA wants none of the rules or precedents to apply while inflicting a long, excruciatingly painful investigation and hearings process, they just do. Then, they hammer you. And there is no higher authority to hear your appeal. Bend over, grab your ankles and pray that it doesn't render you an SEC doormat for the next decade. |
