Bodog Becomes NewBodog Thanks to Activist Judge
Aug 29th, 2007

Bodog Sportsbook is now the NewBodog.  One of the most universally respected sportsbooks Bodog temporarily lost their URL in a legal dispute.

This time the setback had nothing to do with Bill Frist, AKA Jesus Frist, or the war on gambling. The Home Gambling Network out of Las Vegas was awarded a stunning injunction.  Claiming to have intellectual rights over live wagering software used by online gambling websites, Home Gambling Network got an activist judge to agree.

The online sports betting operator lost the Bodog Sportsbook URL but immediately switched over to

According to Bodog Sportsbook owner and online gambling giant Calvin Ayre, “You won’t notice very many changes: same website, same brand, same product, and same service, just a new domain name.”

Professional gambler Stevie Vincent breathed a sigh of relief. “They are as professionally run as any of the dozens of sportsbooks I’ve used over the years.” CEO Joe Duffy has issued a challenge to a high profile media commenter.  “Fox News Network’s Bill O’Reilly has long been a critic of judges who are legislating from the bench. Let’s see if Bill continues here or if he will hide under his desk now that the ruling comes from a right-of-center judge.”

What say you Bill O’Reilly?
